    Locai Labs was founded on a single conviction: AI should be something you own, not something you rent. We believe in AI sovereignty — fundamental control over the things that matter: the model weights and IP, where your data lives, the languages and laws the model is grounded in, and the values it carries.     We build foundational AI for sovereignty. That means domain-specific language models trained on your data, air-gapped from the cloud, and delivered with the weights, the IP, and the independence to run it entirely on your terms.

    We saw an industry dominated by a handful of closed systems, prioritising profit over people and lacking genuine transparency. We believed there had to be a better way. Driven by this conviction, we set out to create AI that is fundamentally different. Our approach is centred on transparency, guided by community input, and designed to serve the diverse, real-world needs of people solving real problems.
